Where is Dad?
by Pamela Perry Jordan
“It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men.”
- Fredrick Douglas
“Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.”
- Ephesians 6:4
Just as children are a gift from God, so too are fathers in the lives of their children.
This book aims to impress upon the hearts of parents, guardians, and caregivers the pivotal role of the father figure in the family unit, especially in regard to children, while also providing Biblical guidance as it relates to practices instituted by God for raising our children.
Throughout her career, Pamela has served in the capacity of Counselor, Child/Adolescent Therapist, Behavior-Disorder Teacher and Behavior Intervention Specialist, which has provided her with a plethora of expertise in the field of Child and Adolescent Growth and Development. Her knowledge and skills have enabled her to assist children, parents, and caregivers in the development of healthy social and emotional values.
Pamela believes that growing up without a father can have a domino effect, thus affecting a child’s ability to transition successfully into adulthood and/or parenthood. Pamela believes that both parents play an equally important role in the rearing and development of their children’s emotional, social, and physical well-being. However, the child looks primarily to the father as the protector, the one who provides a sense of security both physically and emotionally.
Pamela hopes that through her words, readers will become more knowledgeable, insightful, and receptive to God’s instructions for raising our children and that less children will need to ask the question, WHERE IS DAD?
